A trip to Disney World in Orlando, Florida is always an opportunity for travelers to infuse some well-deserved magic into their getaways. According to the D23 Expo Park Panel this year, there will soon be even more for visitors to look forward to enjoying across the parks. EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom alike will be getting upgrades in the form of new rides, attractions, and lands much to the delight of parkgoers from near and far! Between 2025 and 2027, these changes are slated to take place, making every trip to Orlando a new experience for those who have a passion for all things Disney. When you’re excited to check them all out as soon as possible, the following are changes you’ll want to keep your eye on for official opening dates.

Upcoming Rides and Attractions at Disney World

If you’re planning on spending time at EPCOT in 2025, the D23 Expo Park Panel has announced that you’ll be right on time to enjoy a reimagined Test Track opening. This fan-favorite experience will elevate the joy of driving with new and improved technology standards in place as you make your way through time and experience the innovations of automobiles and mobility. When park guests find themselves with cravings to curb during their visit, the future of EPCOT also includes a “Spaceship Earth” themed lounge where dining takes a turn for the futuristic and delicious alike.

Exciting Updates for Magic Kingdom

Visitors make their way to Magic Kingdom in droves each day of the year at Disney World and soon, they’ll have even more reasons to enjoy this whimsical park! Of all the places getting upgrades and new additions in the coming years, Magic Kingdom will see the largest expansion according to the D23 Expo Park Panel. Villains Land was showcased at the Expo presentation without an opening date, but with a lot of fun details to look forward to enjoying. Villains Land will be designed to showcase Disney villains at their best with an overall theme of “Where happily ever after may feel like just a distant dream.” It’s bound to be a darker take on theme park fun than other areas of the park, but that might be what makes it so irresistible. Villains Land is anticipated to include two brand-new attractions for guests to enjoy as well as themed food and shopping. A new Magic Kingdom addition that does have an anticipated timeline is the new space in Frontierland that will be inspired by Pixar Animation Studios’ “Cars” franchise. Construction is slated to begin in early 2025 on this area which will include opportunities to race beyond Radiator Springs alongside Lightning McQueen. A new pirate-themed lounge inspired by “Pirates of the Caribbean” is coming to Magic Kingdom in 2025 as well as a new nighttime parade titled “Disney Starlight” that will pair light, technology, music, and dance.

Hollywood Studios Has Updates Coming Too!

According to the D23 Expo Park Panel, Hollywood Studios has some big changes coming in the future too. One of the highlights is sure to be the Monsters, Inc. Land which will include a suspended coaster experience through the factory door vault enjoyed alongside fan-favorite characters Sulley and Mike. Construction on the Monsters, Inc. Land begins in early 2025 at the same time the park will begin revamping Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run to include Mando and Grogu just in time for the highly anticipated film’s release date in 2026.

New Attractions to Check Out at Animal Kingdom

Updates at Animal Kingdom have been announced as well that will make this park even more of a wild experience for guests. DINOLAND, U.S.A. is slated to be transitioned into a Tropical Americas land instead which will span 11 acres and include an Indiana Jones-themed attraction as well as an Encanto-themed attraction. This means guests can look forward to exploring a Maya temple alongside their favorite explorer or meeting up with the family Madrigal as Antonio gains his powers, and his room transforms into a lush rainforest. The Tropical Americas land is estimated to open in 2027 with construction kicking off at the end of 2024. Opening much earlier at Animal Kingdom will be the “Zootopia” show in the winter of 2025 at the Tree of Life Theater.
